18/19 juli

Hey iedereen,

Zo, even een langere update. Internet was hier gisteren uitgevallen dus toen kon ik geen bericht achterlaten. Het is hier super gezellig en heb al veel mensen ontmoet. Gisteren.....waar ben ik gisteren geweest...ohja, ik ben bij de tempel geweest die kortbij het hostel ligt. Daar heb ik de eerste postkaarten gehaald, ik moet ze alleen nog schrijven.

Daarna heb ik nog nieuwe mensen ontmoet en zijn we naar yoyogi park geweest en hebben de cossplayers bekeken. In de schaduw dat is goed te doen maar in de zon ga je kapot.

Ik zit ondertussen al op 136 foto's maar ik moet ze via de pc in het hostel op facebook zetten. Dat doe ik morgenvroeg wel.

Vandaag ben ik met een meisje uit Denemarken (waar ik gisteren ook mee naar de tempel was) naar Akihabara geweest. Zoooo druk en maids overal. Ik heb al de eerste manga gekocht en een 2e wereldstekker. Ik vergat namelijk dat mijn externe hd ook een stekker had XD.

Daarna zouden we alleen even gaan pinnen. wat erin resulteerde dat we een geweldige bento plek gevonden hebben voor 260 yen (1,60 euro) de 100 yen shop (geweldig, je krijgt er alles)

Daarna hebben we nog lekker in het hostel gezeten en ons verwonderd over 2 duitsers die al helemaal snobbistisch binnen kwamen en na 5 minuten al een andere kamer eisten.....

Nou omdat ze zo onbeleefd bezig waren heb ik op een gegeven moment maar gevraagd wat aan de hand was omdat die van de receptie het niet meer begreep. Bleek dat ze een hostel verkeerd ingeschat hadden en dat het klein was, er zou sperma aan de deken zitten en het rook bedompt en dat ze net van een Ryokan afkwamen (hoezo 2 luxeclasses hoger). Uiteindelijk gingen ze dan wel akkoord, het was toch de laatste nacht. Dus Anh en ik bekeken dat spelletje en verwonderden ons echt over dat gedrag. Anh had namelijk gezien dat ze net die hele kamer hadden schoongeschrobt en gelucht en fris beddengoed. Maar als 2 mannen delen ze wel een dubbel bed.... (hoezo maak je je dan druk over sperma dat nergens te vinden was?????? en ja het was een paar..). Nu hebben we afscheid genomen, ze gaat terug naar denemarken en ik zit gezellig met de rest in de louncheruimte. Vanaf vandaag heb ik weer een paar dagen een prive kamer dus kijken hoe goed dat bevalt ;).

Aangekomen / Arrived

Hoi iedereen,

Ik ben vanochtend veilig en wel met een half uur minder vliegtijd geland op Narita Tokyo.

Het was een redelijk saaie vlucht. De hele vlucht was het licht en doordat het voor mij nog vroeg was en voor de japanners al laat heb ik uiteindelijk helemaal geen slaap gehad, wat betekend dat ik de 36 uurs grens zo bereik. Narita zelf was ook een avontuur op zich haha. Ik moest eerst mijn JR railpass ophalen...dus moest ik naar beneden...toen cash pinnen, dat was dus weer boven. De Japanse geldautomaten maken zelfs het eigen geld krijgen moeilijk XD uiteindelijk had ik geld maar dat was in een zo groot briefje dat ik naar de bankcounter gegaan ben om het te laten verkleinen in kleinere coupures. Daar kreeg ik ook een leuk origami vogeltje omdat ik voor het eerst in Japan was. Toen moest ik weer naar beneden om een treinkaartje naar het hostel te kopen. Dat ging vrij vlot en met de hulp van passagiers ben ik in 1x goed bij het hostel aangekomen. Vanaf het begin was iedereen hier super aardig. Het is net een grote vriendenclub en iederen deelt verhalen met iedereen en heeft plezier met elkaar.

De staff is meer dan vriendelijk en de kamers en gedeelde ruimtes zijn heel erg schoon. Ik ga zo eens een noedelsoep maken en proberen nog tot 11 uur wakker te blijven haha.

Hey everyone,

I landed this morning safe and sound at Narita airport in Tokyo. I was quite a boring flight with no sleep at all so ill hit my 36 hours of being awake soon.

Getting off Narita and on the way to the hostel is an experience itself! First I had to get my JR pass downstairs, then upstairs again to get cash money. The ATM is an adventure of its own i swear. It ended up me getting money that i had to change into smaller notes at the bankcounter next to me haha. Then i had to go downstairs again to get the tickets to the hostel. With the help of a lot of friendly passengers i made it to the hostel really fast in one go. The hostel itself is really neat, nice and comfetable. The staff is amazingly friendly and i even shared a lot of travel information. I even made an appointment to go check the fireworks with a bro and sis that are visiting Osaka the next 10 days. So now i really have to eat my noodles otherwise ill never stay awake till 11pm haha.

16 juli!!!

Hoi iedereen,

Het is zover! 16 juli is het vandaag en ik zal vertrekken.

Mam en Jos komen zo dus ik hou het kort.

Morgenochtend rond 5 uur zal ik landen in Tokyo en in alle rust naar het hostel gaan.

Als ik daar ben geinstalleerd zal ik jullie laten weten hoe de vlucht e.d. was.

Dus......tot morgen vanuit Tokyo!!!

Hey everybody,

Today is the day, July 16!! And ill leave for the airport in a little while.

Since my parents come ill just leave a short note.

Ill land tomorrow at 5am Dutch time in Tokyo and will then continueing to travel to my hostel. When i arrived and installed myself there ill drop a not about my flight etc.

So....till tomorrow from Tokyo!!!

Hier zien jullie de wijk van mijn eerste hostel. Ik zit helemaal boven in de pizzapunt in het midden. Als je op de foto klikt zie je het rode tekentje dat de plaats precies aangeeft. Rechts zie je de rivier waar op 31 juli een groot vuurwerk plaats vindt.

It's the Final Countdown

Hey everyone,

I got my airplane and traintickets for Japan so now I can go.
I'm buying a lot of stuff and I really wonder if it is all necessary...but it's fun to have a reason for non clothing/shoe shopping XD.

So for pictures, I will post all photo's on my facebook account. So please check there for the albums that I make. I will post it here too when I made or uploaded new pictures.
That because Facebook isn't really convenient for writing a lot of stuff and blogspot not for posting a lot of pictures.

Please as a sidenote, comment on the previous message about your address (if you haven't done it yet and want a postal card). I will collect them all on the internet (private ofcourse) so that I won't loose them while I'm in Japan.

July 1st!!

Hi everyone,

It's finally July the 1st. Just 15 more days and it's off to Japan!!!!
At my traineeship I'm wrapping up all the projects now so that I can go without having to worry that something isn't finished.

I made a travelmap so that I have all the paperwork together without needing to dig into my bags to find this or that.
At the 10th of this month I have my "I'm going to Japan" barbeque with some folks (ofc I needed a reason to celebrate Japan haha).

I went to my bankoffice cause a lot of the payment thingies wasn't really clear. After I spoke to the person in charge it all cleared up now so that is really nice.
Also the Yen became quite expensive. So that means my trip will cost even more. But oh well, I'm doing this just once so....go for it.

Almost

Hey everyone,

Well it's almost June 16 so that means just one more month!

I'm quite excited and i'm really looking forward to it.

Btw, a different kind of question. Does anyone have the English book of "To the ends of the Earth" ? I need it for an English test but not interested in buying it if I can borrow it.

The only thing left now is to order some city maps from Tokyo and Osaka and start getting the stuff from my trip together and also my JR railwaypass. Altough the travel company isn't really to bright with that one sigh. Tying on my new EEE goes a bit slower but that means i can enjoy it even more when i'm typing about my " things I did that day".

i'm going to borrow some travel books from a friend that he will get back ofc :P (sneeky, sneeky cause that means he will be without those books for 7 weeks...but he will get mine when he go's next year).

So that means I have to get some stuff done really fast. Excited excited
